DMS provides an overview of treatments in organic cattle herds
The 'Organic treatment overview' printout helps to ensure that the herd's organic treatment accounts are in order and that animals treated for the 4th time within 12 months are registered and analysed.

The 'Treatment overview organic' list continuously counts treatments on individual animals in organic herds. The printout provides an overview of how many treatments each animal has received. As a rule, only treatments that count in the treatment accounts appear on the printout, but it is possible to select all treatments so that the printout fulfils the requirements for the organic medicine logbook.
DMS Guide to the list printout "Treatment overview organic" (Danish)
Only treatments that count towards the treatment account are included in the standard printout
The organic treatment accounting does not include all disease treatments, even if a medical treatment has been set up and the medication may be subject to a retention period of at least 48 hours.
The default setup for the DMS list does not include:
Anaesthetics used in surgery
Vaccines and sera
Vitamins and minerals
Treatments for parasites
Treatments for biting flies/fly infestation
Treatment with internal paw closure agents
Treatment with calcium, magnesium and glucose supplements for metabolic disorders such as calving fever/ketosis, digestive disorders or other
Statutory controls
Please note that if another medication, e.g. pain relief, has been used with the above-mentioned products, it may still count towards the treatment bill.
Customise the DMS list to your needs
The DMS list "Treatment overview Eco" can be found under the menu item "List printouts". Here you can set up criteria for which animal groups and information to include in the list. If the list is to be used as a medication logbook, the setup must be changed so that the raw list with all treatments without totalling and with medication information is created.
It is the responsibility of the individual herd to ensure that the treatment accounts are accurate, as the list is only indicative. Assessments of how treatments should be reported should be coordinated with the herd veterinarian.
The count in DMS takes into account, among other things, whether there are re-treatments within 14 days of the same disease and adds it up to one treatment. If the veterinarian makes the same diagnosis more than 14 days after a completed course of treatment, it counts as a new treatment.
Disease complexes are not taken into account
In organic treatment accounting, treatments for several different diseases can be counted as one treatment if they are related and part of the same disease complex.
However, the DMS printout cannot automatically determine whether 2 different diseases (disease codes) can be part of the same disease complex, so this is not handled in the list. The assessment of whether different diseases belong to a complex, e.g. a retained afterbirth followed by mastitis, can be done together with the herd veterinarian.
